Exhibition “Obra Recent” by Oswald Aulèstia

“Oswald Aulèstia is considered the greatest art forger in history, an artist with such remarkable technical skill that it has allowed him to emulate the great masters of painting. However, beyond the media buzz surrounding this fact, what remains unquestionable is that Oswald is an artist with a long and accomplished professional career.

His work has received wide international recognition, with exhibitions in major cities around the world such as Rome, Milan, Vienna, Paris, London, New York, and Miami. Oswald Aulèstia’s art is situated between Pop Art and Neoplasticism. He works on various media such as paper, canvas, wood, and methacrylate, using geometric shapes to construct his characters humans, androids, or mysterious beings that seem to come from another planet. Throughout his more than fifty-year professional career, he has developed a unique, highly personal, and unmistakable style. The two fundamental characteristics of his work are defined by creativity and the power of color. His extraordinary imagination leads him to create images and scenes unimaginable to most mortals, which never cease to amaze us. He uses vivid, almost strident, and highly contrasting colors, but by combining them with exquisite taste, he achieves a fascinating light, balance, and harmony. In recent years, Oswald Aulèstia’s work has evolved toward simplicity, an unmistakable sign of his artistic maturity.”
