
PORTA MISSÉ
For more than 17 years, Mercè Puy was responsible for the management and artistic dealer of the surrealist José Porta Missé.

They held exhibitions in Berlin, 2010 Tribute to Paul Steinberg, Teatro Lara Exhibition Hall, Madrid 2011 Drawings/Dibuixos, Museu de Valls 2012 Retrospective, Klostergalerie Zehdenick, Berlin 2013 Spanisches Kulturinstitut (Instituto Cervantes), Berlin Vivantes Galerie, Berlin 2015 Espai Volart, Fundació Vila Casas, Barcelona.
Currently, after the death of the artist, Porta Missé last year 2021, PUY&CO pays tribute to him with a permanent exhibition in its gallery in Gràcia: Espai d’art.
PORTA ARTIST
“The artist Porta Missé is a surrealist painter because man, as such, is also a surrealist” (Luisa López Gasteiz). However, it is a very personal surrealism, clearly differentiated from the rest of the artists of this genre. “His work is not like anything or anyone” (Maria Lluisa Borràs). Porta Missé only looks like Porta Missé.

An artist who in his long career has outlined for us a world that together we have made ungrateful and absurd and that he observes and fixes from the ironic sense of understanding and denunciation.
