Jaume Vilaseca Trio feat. Maria Gil invites us to rediscover the symphonic rock of the 1970s through the language of jazz.
In this new project, the Barcelona-based trio led by pianist Jaume Vilaseca pays tribute to the legendary British band Camel, with a repertoire focused on emblematic works such as Mirage, The Snow Goose, and Moonmadness. The true sonic protagonist is Maria Gil’s transverse flute, which brings a bright, precise, and at the same time daring sound, guiding the music through landscapes that are as melodic as they are experimental.
The project is part of Vilaseca’s journey of reinventing the music of bands like Genesis, ELP, Yes, or The Alan Parsons Project with a jazz sensibility, and now delves into the beauty and depth of Camel and other pioneers of early prog-jazz.
